You will need:
Greaseproof paper, scissors and pen, sticky tape, cocktail stick,
music stave (Patchwork Cutters), paint brushes, isopropyl alcohol
(Sugar Flair), White Satin dust colour (Edable Art), dowel,
Embroidery & Lace Set (Patchwork Cutters).
Fig1. Cover a cake with sugarpaste. Place a paper strip around
the cake to fit exactly.

Fig2. Remove and fold into 6 equal sections. Mark a curved
line onto the paper and cut out with scissors.

Fig3. Replace the paper template around the cake and secure.
Mark a curved line onto the icing using a cocktail stick.

Fig4. Remove the template and emboss the music stave vertically
between each curve. Leave to dry before icing the board.

Fig5. Roll out white Mexican paste, cut one music stave, use
a small knife to cut through both ends and into two equal pieces.
Wrap one piece around a piece of dowel. Trim and moisten to
stick both ends together. Remove from the dowel after half an
hour. Dust the loops with white satin dust colour. Mix white
satin dust colour and isopropyl alcohol and paint onto embossed
cake.

Fig6. Roll out white Mexican paste thinly and grease the cutter
well. Cut out lace pieces and leave to dry.

Fig7. Use softened sugarpaste to pipe around the base of the
cake and to attach loops and lace onto the cake. Roses on cocktail
sticks can be pushed into the icing to help hold them in position.

Never push wires into iced cakes without first placing them
into a posy pick.
